MAN continues relationship with Triple Eight Race Engineering

Continuing a successful partnership which is now entering its fifth year, MAN Automotive Imports, distributor of MAN trucks & buses, will again support Triple Eight Race Engineering as its ‘Official Transporter’ for the 2014 V8 Supercar season.

Triple Eight Race Engineering are the reigning V8 Supercar Champions after a successful season in 2013 finishing in the first and second position with drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes respectively, and also winning the coveted Team Championship trophy.

Two MAN TGX prime movers are tasked with ensuring the Red Bull Racing Australia’s Holden VF Commodores tour the country reliably, safely and comfortably to and from each event.
The two prime movers are TGX 540 models that are specced to suit the long haul work they will be required to do.

“To and from the race track, Warwick, our transport driver, becomes the most important member of our Team, so our on-going MAN relationship is vital to the team’s wellbeing. Not only does he need to arrive safely, but having won the Best Presented Team for three consecutive years, we also give our utmost consideration to the presentation levels that Red Bull expect,” said Peter Jamieson, Commercial Operations Manager Triple Eight Race Engineering.

“Our TGX’s certainly look the part, plus both our truckies love the power, particularly up the Toowoomba range! We simply cannot recommend highly enough our MAN’s and the service we receive.”

Each TGX 540 features a 4-valve, 6-cylinder, in-line engine with common rail injection, turbo charging and intercooling, providing an impressive 540hp and 2,500Nm torque.
