The gathering of the Historical Commercial Vehicle Association this Saturday, 28 September, is expected to attract the largest number of Mack trucks in one location ever recorded in Australia. The current record stands at 152, achieved at the last Mack Muster in Gatton.
The Vintage & Classic Truck, Tractor & Machinery Show will be held at the Gatton Showground on the corner of Woodlands Road and Golf Links Drive, Gatton, this Saturday.
“It will be a great weekend for passionate Mack drivers to reminisce about their time behind the wheel,” said Graham Kircher, Vice President of the Historic Commercial Vehicle Association of Queensland. “Whether it was a truck that your father used to drive or the truck that you learnt to drive in, the show will certainly bring back many fond memories.”
Two of the 16 Bi-Centennial Super-Liners commemorative trucks 1988 released by Mack Trucks in 1988 will be on display over the weekend.
“The event is now in its 20th year and a fantastic opportunity for Mack Truck collectors to show off their prized vehicles and for locals to see Australia’s rich trucking history first-hand,” said Dean Bestwick, Vice President Mack Trucks. “Locals will be able to get up close to some of the nation’s best vintage trucks. The first Mack arrived on Australian soil in 1919 and the company has been operating here since 1963. Mack Trucks is the longest serving truck brand in Australia and has long been synonymous with durability and reliability.”
