Lopez Brothers looks to grow business

Established over 80 years ago, Lopez Brothers has continued to grow its Sydney fleet – with big plans for the future. Its latest addition is a UD GW 470 Automated.

The company was started by Felix and Jack Lopez in 1929 when they purchased their first truck to pick up produce from the markets. Today, the business is still family owned and operated, with Jack's sons John and Phil continuing the family tradition.

The new UD GW 470 Automated joins two existing UD CWs in the fleet which is made up of nine prime movers and a rigid.

Specialising in port work, the company owns a variety of trailer combinations, which allows for FCL loads of up to 26 tonnes.

Phil Lopez says the company’s existing relationship with UD Trucks is a major influence in the business's purchasing decision.

“As a company we look to long term relationships with customers and suppliers – our preference would be to try and maintain those relationships,” Phil said.

“We're not big enough to be buying off three suppliers. I think that if the products are similar, it's the relationship that counts.”
