Boral has named Matt McKenzie as its new CEO – effective 1 April 2026 – succeeding Vik Bansal who will join the Seven Group Holdings (SGH) Board as a Director.
McKenzie has served as Boral’s Chief Operating Officer since July 2025 and previously led the company’s Concrete and Quarries operations in southern Australia.
He brings over 20 years of operational and executive experience across construction materials, waste management, and utilities, including leadership roles at Cleanaway, Oracle Utilities and GE.
“Matt is the right leader for this next phase of Boral’s growth,” said SGH CEO, Ryan Stokes.
“He knows this business deeply, has been central to the operational momentum we have built, and has the experience and discipline to take it further.”
Bansal added: “It has been a genuine privilege to lead Boral. I am proud of what the Boral team has achieved and leave with great confidence in the business and in the leadership that will take it forward.”
McKenzie said: “I am honoured to take on this role. The foundations Vik and the team have built are strong, and my focus is clear: to continue improving safety performance, drive operational excellence across every site, and deliver for our customers.”
Boral will maintain its current strategy and focus on safety, margin improvement, network optimisation and customer delivery through its ‘Good to Great’ priorities.
