LDV V80 will come with wheel chair access

The LDV V80 will be the first van on the Australian market to feature wheel chair accessible options available from the showroom floor, thanks to an agreement with wheelchair and emergency vehicle accessories provider, Byron Group.

The initiative is aimed at particularly satisfying the needs of community transport groups, retirement villages and taxi companies.

The agreement between LDV and Byron Group eliminates a third party for wheel chair friendly conversion. Instead, LDV dealers serve as a one-stop destination for WCA vans with sales, parts, servicing, finance and insurance all available in the one place for the wheel chair converted van.

According to Arthur Nersisyan, General Manager of Accessible Transit Solutions, a subsidiary of the Byron Group, the agrrement will provide significant benefits to the transport industry.

“The partnership with LDV will benefit the end user by providing more vehicle choices and will ensure more cost effective solutions for a range of uses including wheel chair accessible transport and emergency vehicles for the Australian market,” Nersisyan said.

“LDV’s partnership with Byron Group means we can offer an LDV for every application from cargo vans right through to wheel chair accessible vans or patient transport options for a competitive price,” Neil Bamford, CEO of LDV’s importer and distributor WMC, added.
