KBR, a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, hydrocarbon, government services, minerals, civil infrastructure, power and industrial markets; has been selected by South Australia’s Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI) to execute concept planning and design, environmental impact assessment, and stakeholder consultation for a project involving one of Adelaide’s major arterial roads, South Road.
KBR is a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, hydrocarbon, government services, minerals, civil infrastructure, power and industrial markets.
This new planning study contract is the largest ever commissioned by DTEI for a transport project in South Australia and is a key part of DTEI’s strategy to deliver a free-flowing north-south transport corridor by eliminating traffic lights on a 5.5 mile (9km) stretch of South Road from the Gallipoli Underpass at Anzac Highway, to the planned South Road Superway at Regency Park. It is aligned with the state’s 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide and follows the successful delivery of similar major transport project planning studies by KBR for DTEI in South Australia over the past five years.
“KBR is pleased to continue our work executing key transport infrastructure projects in South Australia for DTEI,” said Colin Elliott, President, KBR Infrastructure and Minerals. “This win also positions us among the leading providers of transport study services in the country.”
