JD Refrigerated Transport appoints new GM

JD Refrigerated Transport has announced the appointment of a new General Manager of Operations.

The Brisbane-based cold carrier welcomed Ian Wallace to the team today over social media.

In a statement issued by the company it said Wallace had a reputation for hands-on leadership, consultation skills, and delivery of ‘best in class’ operations.

Wallace has worked in logistics and broader supply chain roles for over 20 years.

Having grown up in Northern NSW in broad acre wheat and cotton country, Wallace had a very early start in large scale logistics.

Working alongside several broad acre farming families from a young age, Wallace grew to understand and appreciate the critical role logistics plays in business.

“The early experience taught him tenacity and an ability to plan ahead, and to mitigate issues before they occur,” the company said.

During his career, Wallace has led end-to-end supply chain improvements for some of Australia’s leading brands including the joint venture between BP and Caltex known as ALMC, Super Retail Group [Rebel, SuperCheapAuto, BCF], Mulgowie Farming Company and Hyne Timber.

“Ian is well respected in industry for his skills in whole-of-business transformation, business growth and performance,” JD Refrigerated Transport said.
