Iveco is promoting healthier work practices as part of the Trans-Help Foundation’s new mobile device App, which provides users a range of health and safety information that they can access while on the road.
Launched at the recent Brisbane truck Show, the App offers useful traffic notifications allowing drivers to re-route their journeys while also enabling access to daily industry news and all Trans-Help support services.
The App also features a video function allowing the user to access a counsellor and other support staff face-to-face, on-screen in real time. Another key component is a link to ‘GP2U’, which provides fast contact with medical health professionals.
According to Trans-Help Foundation CEO, Dianne Carroll, feedback since the release of the App had been very positive. “The App has been well received and we know it’s going to be a valuable addition to the work that Trans-Help undertakes with transport personnel and their families,” she said.
The App is the latest initiative by Trans-Help in support of the transport industry. Since 2008, the foundation has been operating mobile health units using Iveco Daily vans.
“The Iveco vans are fantastic, and our sponsorship with BP also allows us to travel far and wide without having to worry about the cost of diesel,” Carroll said. “As well as undertaking the health checks, the vans are used to visit clients following an accident to provide counselling and support to the driver.
“Often a truck driver will be the first person at a scene of a dangerous accident and are obviously affected by the road trauma they experience. Our strong relationship with companies such as Iveco, allow us to keep doing important work for the industry.”
