Isuzu supports foundation

The Daniel Morcombe Foundation has taken delivery of an Isuzu NQR 450 Premium truck. The NQR 450 Premium, which will be used to travel interstate, will fill a number of roles with the main focus being child safety awareness.

The NQR 450’s body design spans six metres and provides plenty of room for visitors and volunteers.

According to Bruce Morcombe, when the charity was looking for a truck, flexibility was the key element in the selection process as the truck is needed to play a number of roles.

“We required a truck that is versatile and can be used as a command centre, meeting point, stage, retail outlet, as well as provide an education and first aid facility,” he said.

“The truck is a great addition to the charity. Not only does it help us to educate children, but also provides a place for the volunteers to have a quick cuppa between visiting schools.”

Bruce and Denise Morcombe set up the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in 2005, two years after the abduction and death of their son. In order to educate and spread the message of child safety, the charity plans to take the truck to schools, fetes and community forums as well as major events with the help of volunteers.
