Isuzu Australia has released its MY25 FY Series heavy-duty line-up, with the updated 8×4 range now available nationwide.
Comprising six variants across the FYH and FYJ ranges, the new FY Series completes Isuzu’s heavy-duty portfolio and targets one of the most competitive segments of the Australian truck market.
Designed for demanding applications such as concrete agitation, waste, utilities and excavation, the FY Series delivers a full end-to-end solution at the 32,000kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) limit.
The MY25 FY range features a new Euro VI-based powertrain compliant with ADR80/04, an all-new cab design and a first-in-class safety package, alongside multiple wheelbase and suspension options to suit a wide variety of body configurations.
Isuzu Australia Head of Sales Craig White said the FY Series has built a strong reputation since its introduction in 2012.
“Over more than a decade, the FY Series has developed a loyal following across several Australian industries,” said White.
“It has carved out a niche for itself and continues to perform strongly against some heavyweight competitors in the heavy-duty segment.
“With this latest release, the FY Series offers a highly competitive specification at its price point and a compelling value proposition for heavy-duty operators.”
All MY25 FY models share a 32,000kg GVM and are available in an 8×4 configuration with load-sharing front suspension. The FYH range includes two variants with 5.8m and 6.0m wheelbases, while the FYJ line-up expands to four models with wheelbases ranging from 5,080mm through to an extra-long 6,700mm.
Across the range, Isuzu has fitted higher-capacity Meritor MFS73 steer axles with EBS disc brakes, delivering an additional 500kg of legal capacity under the revised ADR80/04 mass limits.
Powering the FY Series is the updated Isuzu 6UZ1-TCC six-cylinder engine, now delivering 259kW at 2,000rpm and 1,437Nm of torque at 1,400rpm. The Euro VI-compliant engine uses a combination of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Diesel Particulate Diffuser (DPD) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to meet Australia’s latest emissions standards.
All FY models are paired exclusively with the Allison HD4430 automatic transmission. Designed for severe on- and off-highway use, the transmission features sixth-generation electronic controls and a polyphase torque converter to optimise performance, ‘startability’ and vehicle control.
The MY25 FY Series introduces Isuzu’s most comprehensive safety offering yet, with up to 12 active and passive systems available. An enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS combines a windscreen-mounted camera with a bumper-integrated radar to enable features such as Advanced Emergency Braking, Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Driving Beam.
Passive safety measures include a crash-rated cab, multiple SRS airbags and reinforced door structures.
With its new driver-focused cabin, upgraded safety technology and improved performance efficiency, Isuzu says the FY Series further strengthens its position in the heavy-duty market.
“The introduction of our complete MY25 heavy-duty range positions Isuzu to compete at the forefront of the industry,” said White.
“We’re confident this latest FY Series will meet, and exceed, customer expectations in the heavy-duty space.”
