Isuzu is integral to the operations of Tequa Plumbing & Civil, who use an extensive truck fleet to maintain a variety of civil services in the Gippsland region.
The company is equipped to fit commercial and residential plumbing, sewer and stormwater works, electrical and gas work through to drilling and bulk earthwork.
This varied value offering is what sets Tequa Plumbing & Civil apart from competitors, according to managing director Daniel Smolenaars.
“We’re insanely curious about providing long-term solutions for our clients and thinking outside the square to give them the full breadth of our experience,” he said.
“If a client requests a job and we see an opportunity to significantly increase its value—potentially doubling the impact with a minimal cost increase—we will always recommend the option that delivers the superior result.”
Tequa’s value offering is enabled through the implementation of various Isuzu trucks to make the company’s variety of services available.
Several Isuzu FXY 240-350 Autos with GVMs of 24,000kg are fitted with beavertails to handle the transportation of heavy-duty equipment like excavators, specialised plants and directional drills.
Isuzu FSD 140-260 Autos with GVMs of 14,000kg come in the form of smart hydro tanker for non destructive digging.
The company’s fleet also includes many light and medium-duty Isuzu NMR, NQR and FRR Ready-to-Work Tippers with automated manual transmissions, which are used for general work in the form of site-clean up vehicles or generic transporters.
According to Smolenaars, the diversity that the many Isuzu trucks bring to Tequa’s fleet is integral to upholding the company’s operations.
“As our business has grown and we’ve ventured into new areas of operation, we’ve also expanded our client base,” he said.
“Naturally, our fleet needs to cater for this. The client has an expectation that we want to hit and exceed every single time.
“We need to make sure that we continue to upskill our staff with the right training and provide the right equipment that’s going to support them.”
Tequa upgrades its fleet and equipment regularly to ensure top performance and reliability. These qualities are imperative to the company’s vehicles, which clock between 20,000 and 40,000km per year.
The equipment is further maintained with the implementation of a fleet modernisation program through the Gippsland Truck Centre.
Tequa chooses to maintain its trucks using genuine OEM parts and componentry, sustaining operational longevity as a result.
“The relationship we have with Gippsland Truck Centre is fundamental, as is their relationship with the Isuzu brand for the success of our business,” Smolenaars said.
“They care about us and want to make sure that what we’re buying is something that’s going to suit us and help provide the right outcomes for our team and our clients.”
