Isuzu bolsters service agreements ahead of spike in national truck numbers

Isuzu Trucks has promoted its service agreements and customer care program following new reports that anticipate the number of trucks on Australian roads to reach record levels.

This report correlates with a forecasted increase in the country’s freight task by the Federal Government’s (BITRE) research. It predicts road freight volumes will increase by up to 77 per cent between the years 2020 to 2050.

Isuzu, the country’s most popular truck brand, has recorded close to 100,000 operational units over the past decade up to 2023, offers a range of comprehensive servicing and maintenance programs to customers across the country.

These servicing agreements are imperative to ensuring vehicle performance and safety on the road, particularly as more heavy vehicles share the space.

Isuzu Trucks’ servicing agreements come in three main levels: Isuzu Essentials, Isuzu Essentials Plus and Isuzu Total, which cover newly purchased and currently operating trucks.

Additionally, Isuzu Heritage is an agreement reserved for older truck models.

All Isuzu service agreements advertise a predictable monthly or upfront fee, which controls maintenance costs and allows operators to better understand their total cost of ownership for the vehicle.

Brett Stewart, Head of Aftersales for Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL), has pushed the brand’s servicing agreements as integral to providing a positive truck ownership experience for Isuzu Trucks customers.

“We want customers to get the most from their truck ownership experience with Isuzu, a critical element of this being their truck spending more time doing what it needs to do and not held up in the workshop,” he said.

“If we can also assist businesses to gain greater clarity around whole-of-life vehicle costs and their compliance obligations, it’s a win-win for everyone.”

In 2023, IAL reported a 36 per cent increase in customer take-up of service agreements by Isuzu Trucks, exceeding anticipated targets over a three-year period.

“Feedback has been extremely positive with many of our customers saying they should have done it sooner and recommending it to others as a value-add to business,” Steward said.

Isuzu Trucks is now offering a six-year Essentials Service Agreement package for the price of three years on selected N Series Ready-to-Work and N Series cab-chassis models, until 30 September 2024.

This package is supported by Isuzu’s six-year truck warranty and six-year roadside assistance service on N series cab chassis, and a three-year warranty on truck body equipment in its Ready-to-Work range.

The Isuzu N Series truck range features models that can be driven with a standard car licence (4,500 kg GVM) through to 8,700 kg GVM vehicles, with Ready-to-Work models specified for a wide scope of trades and freight tasks.
