The NLS 200 Crew and NLS 200 Tipper have been added to the NLS 200 range, joining the standard single cab model and providing customers requiring a versatile light duty truck with far greater choice.
Featuring a factory-fitted tipping body, the new NLS Tipper model draws on the ‘ready-to-work’ concept that Isuzu released several years ago. This concept recognises that valuable time was often lost by truck owners who would purchase a cab chassis and then have to wait for a body to be manufactured and fitted,
The NLS 200 Tipper’s combination of a 2.1 cubic metre Shinmaywa steel tipping body measuring 3050mm by 1995mm, 4500 GVM rating and compact wheelbase of 2740mm ensures good manoeuvrability and ample payload capability.
An added benefit of the NLS Crew is its six person capacity which still allows ample room for tools and equipment thanks to its 3360mm wheelbase cab chassis.
Manual locking front hubs and a limited slip differential in the rear axle on all NLS models provide a secure driveline connection even in difficult conditions.
The NLS 200 also has a single speed transfer case (no low range) incorporating a viscous coupling drive to the front wheels which allows drivers to add front-wheel drive to the equation via a convenient dashboard mounted switch, once the locking front hubs have been engaged.
Other features include 205/85R16 G557 lug tyres, and a torsion bar independent front suspension system.
All NLS models incorporate many of the enhancements introduced across the N Series range as part of the Euro V upgrades.
Powering the range is the EuroV-rated SiTEC Series III 150, 4-cylinder 2,999cc common rail diesel engine with an air-to-air intercooler and electronically controlled variable nozzle turbocharger.
Performance is enhanced by the engine’s flat torque curve that reaches its peak just after 1500 rpm and holds a flat torque rating until 2800 rpm. Maximum power is 110 kW @ 2,800 rpm with maximum torque of 375 Nm @ 1600 – 2800rpm.
Isuzu’s popular 5-speed overdrive manual transmission, incorporating full synchromesh on all forward gears for smooth and easy gear changes is also standard.
For improved safety NLS 200 models feature ABS and ASR traction control, Hill Start Aid, driver and passenger airbag and ECE-R29 cab strength compliance, while driver and passenger comfort is aided by integrated air conditioning, a contoured adjustable driver’s seat, central locking, electric windows and mirrors, and a touch screen multimedia system with Bluetooth.
