Industry pays tribute to Vern Mildren

The trucking industry has paid tribute to the passing of Vern Mildren, founder of Noelvern Transport and a great supporter of the industry.

ATA Director Doug McMillan said Vern’s passing was a loss for the industry. “Vern was a committed NatRoad member, and took part in a number of committees and events,” McMillan said.

“He was named the NatRoad Driver of the year in 2001, and then won the ATA’s National Professional Driver of the Year award in 2002.”

According to McMillan, Mildren was dedicated to his local community, and regularly participated in Road Transport Awareness Weeks in Albury and Wodonga communities by serving on the committee, driving in street parades and taking trucks to the shows and schools.
