The rising popularity of in-cab entertainment systems in highly competitive light-duty truck market and the fast improvement in satellite navigation and bluetooth communication have promoted most Japanese truck manufacturers to fit a sophisticated double-DIN entertainment unit as standard.
Hino now follows the trend by offering a reversing camera as standard until the end of September 2013.
“Hino has always endeavoured to make sure its customers and the public are as safe as possible in and around our trucks,” said Cris Gillespie, Hino Australia Manager, Marketing and Communications. “With the addition of a reversing camera at no extra charge, we've made sure the 300 Series is the safest possible choice at any speed, in any conditions and in any environment.”
The reversing camera sends a video feed to the Hino multimedia unit, which is fitted as standard across the entire Hino truck range. In dark or low-visibility situations such as early mornings, night or inclement weather, the camera uses infrared technology to ensure drivers remain aware of their surroundings, regardless of the conditions.
Hino's multimedia unit features a 6.1-inch HD touch-screen, DAB+ digital and conventional AM/FM radio receivers, CD and DVD player, USB and SD input, and is Bluetooth-enabled.
