The new Hino 700 is now available with ZF AS Tronic automated manual transmission as an option on the SS 2848 and SS 2848 High Roof heavy-duty models.
The European designed ZF AS Tronic automated manual transmission was first launched by ZF in 1997, and has since been extensively used by European truck manufacturers including Iveco, MAN and DAF – however, Hino is the first Japanese truck manufacturer to offer this transmission in its vehicles.
Hino has specified the overdrive version of the ZF S Tronic coupled to the E13C Hino 13 litre inline six cylinder engine that delivers 353kW at 1800rpm and 2157Nm of torque at 1100rpm.
Features of the ZF AS Tronic include adaptive gear selection and a manual mode, with sequential gear selection – thus making ration changes much faster than a pure manual transmisson.
