Hino Australia’s purpose-built Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Horsley Park, Sydney, has driven significant growth for the company.
As the PDC approaches its fifth anniversary, Hino Australia has reflected on the significant impact the facility has made on customers and dealers nationwide.
Hino Australia Vice President of Product Support, Greg Bleasel, reported that the scale of the company’s ‘truck park’ increased parts sales by 24 per cent in the five years leading up to 2021, which made the new facility essential.
In the four years since opening the new PDC, Hino Australia has seen a further 37 per cent increase in parts sales.
“The PDC has strengthened our supply-chain network and delivered a consistently higher supply rate,” Bleasel said.
Bleasel also observed that Hino Australia’s national sales, parts and service network requires broad coverage and dependable parts availability.
Hino Australia’s PDC has helped the company increase its inventory stock level by more than 50 per cent, and further enables its dealers to be supplied with stock within a day due to a 97 per cent supply rate.
“When we purpose-built the PDC in 2021, one of our goals was to improve our already strong ‘pick’ rate,” Bleasel said.
“It now sits at 54 lines per hour, which is a 69 per cent improvement on our previous PDC.
“Doubling our floor space has allowed us to future proof our business while an additional eight loading bays mean multiple vehicles can be loaded and unloaded simultaneously.”
Bleasel also emphasised the strategic role that the PDC’s Horsley Park location plays in providing this national support.
“It provides easy access to industrial areas and key transport routes while nearby, Badgerys Creek airport provides future opportunities for airfreight deliveries.”
