Nestlé has received 20 new Hino 300 Series trucks which will be used to service its Nestlé Peters Ice Cream route business in Victoria and New South Wales.
The new fleet consists of ten 616 Auto models, seven 716 Auto models and three 714 Hybrid manuals, all of which were chosen for their custom-built features and flexibility.
Nestlé National Route Transport Manager, Clinton Sanders, said Nestlé saw the opportunity to improve on customer service by using trucks that increased reliability, safety and driver comfort and reduced driver fatigue.
“We have had good, positive feedback from our customers and have enhanced the quality of our product and reliability using this new truck fleet for our deliveries,” he said.
The trucks are fitted with specialised freezer bodies produced in Italy by Therma Truck. They have been custom-built with hand-held units for ordering and fulfilling orders and invoicing on the spot.
With reduced fuel consumption and reduced emissions, the Hino Hybrids provide cleaner, more efficient transport and are used for the city routes to obtain the greatest economy in the start-stop traffic.
