Two leading national logistics companies have teamed up with Volvo Trucks Australia and CMV Truck and Bus to showcase the latest in electric big rigs.
Mulgrave, Victoria-based Tru Transport and Logistics collaborated with Freight Assist Australia (FAA Group), to have Volvo Trucks Australia demonstrate the capabilities of Volvo’s EV Prime Mover at the Swisse Wellness National Operations Centre, at Ravenhall, Melton in Melbourne’s west.
Tru Transport and Logistics said that experiencing Volvo’s EV capability firsthand was a strong reminder of where freight is heading, and a “meaningful step toward greener transport and improved carbon performance”.
“This reflects our core values at Tru, especially innovation, and our focus on lowering our environmental impact,” the company said on LinkedIn.
“We’re a team that wants to raise the standard. Exploring electric transport is one way we’re backing that up, supporting next-generation solutions and working towards reducing transport-related emissions across Australia’s supply chain.”
Tru Transport and Logistics said the use of electric heavy vehicles in the road transport sector reflects its “commitment to sustainability through action, powered by collaboration, smarter planning and strong carrier partnerships”.

“We’re proud to be part of the shift towards more sustainable freight, and grateful to work alongside partners who are willing to challenge old models and think differently,” the logistics provider said.
A strong advocate of innovation in trucking, Tru Transport said the use of EVs is a commitment to “shaping a cleaner, more responsible future for freight, together”.
