Truganina Melbourne-based transport company, Hawk Logistics, has announced its Victorian cold store site is officially open for business.
It said the hub, which is fully managed and operated by the Hawk Logistics team, provides greater control, ownership, and visibility across its cold-chain network.
“It’s an important step forward in strengthening our freight management capability, increasing flexibility, and driving stronger operational efficiency for our customers,” the company said via LinkedIn.
The cold store is part of Hawk Logistics’ Australia-wide cold chain logistics transport services, which sees it as a refrigerated transport partner for leading retailers, including Woolworths, Coles, Metcash and Aldi.
The company deploys a range of B-doubles, 26-pallet quad axles, semis and rigids in its operations, and is capable of transporting multi-temperature goods in one vehicle – being frozen, chilled or dry. This feature, Hawk says, helps clients save time and money.
“Beyond infrastructure, this launch represents continued investment in our people. The new site allows us to train and upskill our Victorian team, building capability now as we prepare for the upcoming Hawk VIC Coldstore 2.0 purpose-built facility planned for late 2027,” Hawk Logistics said online.
The cold store site has been in operation since late January 2026.
The LTL logistics provider has been progressively expanding its business operations.
In April 2025, Hawk Logistics enhanced its presence in South Australia with the announcement of a new distribution contract in the state with Metcash.
Operates in all Australian states and territories and New Zealand, Metcash is renowned as Australia’s leading wholesale distribution company, which recorded overall FY24 revenue at roughly $18.2 billion.
