Australian transport operator Hawk Logistics has announced further expansion through the acquisition of national refrigerated transport and warehousing company Farragher Logistics.
Farragher Logistics has operated in Australia for over 90 years and bases its head office in Newcastle while also operating depots in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
After opening its doors as TJ Farragher Furniture Removalists in 1933, the family-operated company pivoted to freight, shop fittings and refrigeration transport in 1982 and now offers refrigerated transport services and cold storage warehousing across Australia’s east coast, regional areas and to Perth.
Hawk Logistics was founded in 2014 when its co-founders, Amrit and Harman, were driving trucks part time while at university. Over the past decade it has grown to employ over 500 people and operates depots in Melbourne, Sydney, Griffith and Adelaide.
“We are proud to announce that Hawk Logistics has acquired Farragher Logistics, a 91-year-old company with a rich legacy in the Australian transport industry,” a statement from Hawk Logistics reads.
“As part of this transition, Farragher’s experienced team of drivers and assets will join Hawk Logistics, bringing valuable expertise that will strengthen the quality of services we provide customers.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions nationwide.
“By integrating a business with nearly a century of experience we honour Farragher Logistics’ legacy while continuing to innovate and set new standards of excellence.
“Today’s milestone stays true to our mission of challenging the logistics industry by providing innovative solutions and delivering customer experience.”
