Hatia Property Corporation, a property development and investment company based in South East Queensland, is getting ready to launch the first automated truck washing facility in the Sunshine State able to automatically wash B-double big rig trucks in eight minutes flat.
Conveniently located at the Shell truck stop, Northbound off the Gateway motorway at Nudgee on Brisbane’s north side, the multi-capability facility is the second to be constructed in Australia, with the only other commercial facility located in Albury, Victoria.
Construction of the automated truck wash is well underway, with workers expecting to break soil on the truck wash extension early this month. Construction on the project is expected to be complete later this year.
Hatia Property Corporation director Faisal Hatia said the $1.3 million facility was a one of kind commercial opportunity that he believed would prove extremely popular with fleet owners and travelling truckies. “Its convenient location is the perfect pull up point for travelling rigs,” he explained.
“Until now, the only other similar facility capable of handling these big rigs was down in Victoria. For those that are on the road, it’s a long time between washes.”
The innovative new truck wash will use mostly recycled water and will feature a ‘touchless’ conveyor system, using jets to distribute water and cleaning products. Hatia Property Corporation manager James Weir said the truck wash technology would take only eight minutes to wash a 26 metre B-double with approximately 15,000 litres of recycled water.
“Interest on this facility has been overwhelming and truck and fleet owners are waiting anxiously for the 24 hour facility to open,” Weir said.
