Hardy’s takes hold of Isuzu

NSW transport company, Hardy’s Excavations, has taken delivery of a new crew cab Isuzu FRR 600 that will not only be used in the excavation business, but also double as a specialised race car transporter and service vehicle.

According to Russell Hardy, Managing Director of Hardy’s Excavations and Hardy’s Motorsports, the new Isuzu is more than just an everyday workhorse. As a passionate Speedway racer, Russell needs a vehicle that can work hard during the week and help the team succeed on the weekends.

“We chose the Isuzu FRR 600 because it fits the bill and eliminates the use of a second vehicle to carry my race crew,” he explains. “With its standard Isuzu Sitec 236HP engine, the truck effortlessly climbs all the hills we encounter.”

The truck currently tows a 10-tonne tri-axle trailer built by US brand, United Trailers, which is fitted out with a range of cabinets and drawers to store all the necessary servicing equipment to maintain Hardy’s Excavations’ fleet of earthmoving machines.

The truck’s maiden voyage to a Speedway race was a two-day road trip from Pottsville to Darwin for the aforementioned Northern Territory AMCA Nationals titles, where Russell became third.
