Goldstar Transport celebrates milestone

Perth-based transport and logistics company, Goldstar Transport, has celebrated 20 years of operation.

The carrier has been involved in several ‘signature’ projects around Western Australia including Optus Stadium, and the rail tunnels under Perth. It also aims to remain a benchmark transport provider of choice in Western Australia.

As part of a keynote address last month, Sean Carren, Goldstar Transport Managing Director, said the transport industry is built on great people.

“It is our responsibility to look after them and provide our most valuable resource – our people – with a safe workplace,” he said.

“I feel a better compliment than the one comparing me to Steve Irwin was when I was remembered as the safety guy! That was when I knew we had delivered the right message.”

Carren said only 25 per cent of businesses that started in 2004 are still going today.

“For Goldstar Transport to be where it is today is testament to its supporters, partners and team,” he said.

Mark Foley, Goldstar Transport Chief Financial Officer, also received a special mention.

“Mark has been with the business coming up 10 years now and is a key part of everything we do,” said Carren.

An extremely strong level of community support was acknowledged on the occasion. Volunteer organisation, Dandelions, was also recognised for its work across Western Australia to assist kids’ entry into the education system.

To conclude the presentation, Carren said: “We are extremely proud of our people, our operations, and that we have never forgotten the people who have helped us and continue to help us along the way.”

In related news, Goldstar Transport has been improving safety across its fleet with JOST.
