This week Geotab became a certified telematics monitoring application service provider locally the company has announced.
Geotab is now certified by Transport Certification of Australia (TCA) as an Application Service Provider (ASP) of the Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) Application and the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA).
The news comes ahead of the early release of its TMA solution.
Telematics applications collect a variety of data about heavy vehicles and fleet operations that can be used to ensure compliance with national regulations.
A TCA certified Telematics Monitoring Application is considered a flexible solution for fleet operators who want to manage their heavy vehicles access arrangements, ensure that safety regulations are being met and optimise operations.
Geotab’s TMA solution is now in early release, with a waitlist available for interested transport operators.
In an online statement Sean Killen, Geotab Vice President of Global Markets described it as a huge development for the company in Australia.
“We haven’t really played in the heavy transport market despite Geotab having over a million heavy trucks around the world in our base,” he said.
“We are actually probably the best option in the world for heavy transport companies, particularly ones that have international footprints and want to run a single platform globally.
“As a country strategy, going into the Brisbane Truck Show, we will continue to make new announcements about additional partnerships and progress to make Geotab the strongest heavy truck product in Australia.”
