With its entry into the Pakistan market, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is expanding its presence into a key market of the growing South Asia region and reinforcing its leading market position in the so-called Next 11 countries.
MFTBC will enter the Pakistan market with the Fuso FV Super Great heavy-duty prime mover (GVW 28 tons) and the Fuso FE Canter light-duty truck (GVW 6.5-7.2 tons). The trucks will be exported as completely knocked down (CKD) kits from Japan and assembled locally in Karachi by Master Motor Corporation Ltd. Master Motor will also serve as the distributor for the Fuso vehicles and will build up a comprehensive sales and service network.
The Pakistan market entry bolsters MFTBC’s presence in the Next 11 countries. This group of high potential economies includes Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, South Korea, the Philippines, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Mitsubishi Fuso is represented in nine of these 11 countries, where it is the overall commercial vehicle leader with a 40-percent share among Japanese manufacturers.
