Freightliner has entered into a new truck supply partnership with Brad Jones Racing, providing two Argosy prime movers to the team.
In return, the team sported a new livery on Andrew Jones’ Number 20 Holden Commodore at Round 3 of the Dunlop Series held in Perth at Barbagallo Raceway.
“It’s great to have such an iconic international company support our Dunlop Series team, as part of their 25th anniversary in Australia,” said Team Principal, Kim Jones.
Senior Manager of Freightliner Trucks Australia, Rod West, said the new partnership was working well. “Freightliner’s partnership with Brad Jones Racing is new to 2014 but already, we have received strong encouragement from our dealer network and customers,” he said.
Following the race, team driver Andrew Jones was enthusiastic about his results (sixth place) and the new relationship with Freightliner. “My pace in race two was awesome. The way we were able to move through the field showed the true potential of the Freightliner Commodore,” Andrew said.
“I wanted to say a big thanks to the Freightliner guys who supported me this weekend. It was great to have the support from both the Freightliner staff and their guests at the track.”
The Dunlop Series is regarded as the “feeder” category for V8Supercars and the next round will be at Townsville on July 4-6.
