Freight Week to host Emergency Response Seminar

The National Bulk Tanker Association (NBTA) has announced that an Emergency Response Seminar will be held on Thursday, 5th September as part of Freight Week 2013, which is hosted by the Victorian Transport Association in Melbourne.

“The Emergency Response Day has a focus on dangerous goods and tanker incidents and the ability to recover product and equipment after an incident,” said Rob Perkins, Executive Director of the NBTA.

“The session will also explore the casual factors – why do incidents occur and how can they be prevented?

“Data informing this discussion will be tabled at this year’s conference, with the incidents that occurred in 2012 will be reviewed, as well as the call for electronic stability control to be mandated.”
