The Victorian Government has called for tenders from five companies to deliver the Freight Infrastructure Charge collection service at the Port of Melbourne.
The charge will apply to trucks entering the East or West Swanson Dock container terminals to pick up and deliver containers.
The funds raised are slated to contribute to investment being made in road infrastructure as part of the Victorian Transport Plan.
