Freight Assist Australia has announced the planned growth of its facilities in Victoria.
This expansion follows the operator’s acquisition of a neighbouring site at 209 Maidstone Street, Altona.
Freight Assist Australia’s warehousing and distribution facility, subsequently, will offer 3,000 additional pallet spaces, 5,000 total racked locations, increased storage and third-party logistics (3PL) capacity, streamlined operations and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) accreditation.
Additionally, the site will include four container loading docks, enabling the operator to service multiple hand unload and palletised container unpackings simultaneously.
Freight Assist Australia National Warehouse and Sales Manager, Jayden Wrigley, expressed his enthusiasm for the move.
“This is a very exciting time for us,” he told Prime Mover.
“Our Melbourne warehouse has been at or over capacity for the best part of 18 months now. Our customer base has been growing significantly, and the only way to keep our standard of excellent service and reliability is to expand.
“The expansion separates our 3PL and linehaul operations, creating a safer and more efficient environment for all involved.”
