Truck driver health checks have now been announced for March as part of a joint initiative of Safe Work Australia, the National Transport Commission (NTC), preventionXpress and the Institute for Breathing and Sleeping.
All free truck driver health checks will be conducted at the BP Truck Stop stations at North Lavington along the Hume Highway, Victoria from 11-12 March; and on 13 March at Cooper Street in Epping.
According to Safe Work Australia, the health checks will provide truck drivers with a convenient, easy way of checking their health; early notification of potential health issues; and an immediate, easy to understand report with their results.
“Any driver identified as having a high risk health issue will be referred to their GP and provided with contact details of relevant service providers for further information,” Safe Work Australia said.
According to Safe Work Australia, the health check sessions are as follows: 11 March, BP North Lavington, Hume Highway Truck Map 72A6 from 3pm – 8pm; 12 March, BP North Lavington, Hume Highway Truck Map 72A6 from 7am – 11am and 4pm to 8pm; and no 13 March, BP Cooper Street, Epping from 7am – 11am and 5pm to 8pm.
