Fourth annual open day at Brown & Hurley Yatala

The fourth annual open day at Brown & Hurley Yatala, with huge savings on parts, accessories and more at a pallet sale, attracted hundreds of visitors and the bargain bonanza continued at the Darra branch.

The Brown & Hurley Yatala branch traditionally attracts high customer numbers as it caters for families with a jumping castle and face painting for the kids plus a sausage sizzle and lucky door prizes popular with customers. This year, the Historic Commercial Vehicle Association of Queensland staged an impressive display of old vehicles adding to attractions.

The pallet sale proved an extremely popular event with a huge variety of components on sale at reduced prices including brake parts, universal joints, suspension kits, starter motors, electrical and lighting just a small portion of the bargains on offer. The front of the premises resembled a parts storage area with, as the name suggests, everything on pallets for inspection. Component suppliers had representatives on site to offer advice along with dealership staff providing information on trucks in the PACCAR range.

“The open day and pallet sale has been a huge success from day one,” says Yatala Dealer Principal Paul Hurley. “We had a start time for the day from 8am but people were at the gates from 7am keen to see what was on offer, it is advisable to be early because from the time we started the sale items were being sold rapidly.”

So successful was the event that throughout the morning parking was at a premium, indicating the number of people rolling up at the branch. Activities saw a huge number of families in attendance and as fast as people left the site others turned up to take their place.
It was a similar scene at Darra where June 30 saw a huge rollup of customers keen to grab a bargain from the end of financial year pallet sale. Astute buyers made their way around another extensive range of discounted parts and accessories for a wide range of trucks and trailers while families enjoyed activities designed to entertain and keep the kids amused.

Brown & Hurley Group Joint Managing Director Rob Brown was buoyed by the large number of people attending the Darra event, saying it exceeded expectations by attracting a large number of influential fleet operators as well as small companies and owner-operators.

“We have experienced a highly successful morning that has seen a large number of people keen to nab a bargain at our pallet sale. Judging by sales across the products offered it has been very well received by trucking operators,” Rob says.

Staff at Darra was on hand to offer information and advice to assist in selection of the huge array of products to suit most trailer makes as well as items specifically designed for Kenworth and DAF trucks.

The Brown & Hurley Group has established a reputation for offering genuine bargains at the pallet sales, which have become a highlight for trucking operators.
