Fonterra to ‘green’ its fleet

Farmer-owned co-operative and dairy exporter, Fonterra, has announced significant investment to its fleet as part of a pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

According to RadioNZ, Fonterra has pledged to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030 compared with 2015 levels.

As part of this move, the company reportedly pledged to have 100 electric vehicles within its light vehicle fleet by 2019.

It also told the newswire it was exploring electricity and wood biomass for its milk plants, and it would use biofuel in its tanker fleet.
