Followmont Transport takes delivery of Fuso

Followmont Transport's new Fuso

Followmont Transport has taken delivery of a new eight-pallet Fuso Fighter 1224.

Headed north to Townsville, Queensland, the six-cylinder Fuso truck will cover local runs carrying general freight.

Followmont Transport COO, Ross Longmire, accepted the unit last Friday 5 May from Daimler Trucks Gold Coast.

Longmire told Prime Mover the Fuso will add even more versatility to the fleet’s line-up.

“When we looked at replacing some of our smaller fleet, we couldn’t go past the Fuso,” he said.

“It handles a wide range of applications and focuses on reducing carbon emissions, so aligns with our sustainability strategy.

“These trucks are just so versatile, they will be used to service all our general freight customers.”

According to Longmire, Followmont Transport currently has 112 similar vehicles across the fleet.

“Our Managing Director, Mark Tobin, and our shareholders are very passionate about investing in Followmont and providing modern equipment that suit our operations,” he said.

“When purchasing new fleet, we really look for fuel economy, lower maintenance costs, and toughness to be able to handle the harsh environments our fleet can at times operate in.”

Last week, Followmont Transport also accepted delivery of three new Kenworth K200s as part of its ongoing $25 million investment into new equipment over the next 12 months.

Under the same growth strategy, it accepted delivery of two new Kenworth K200s and a Mack Anthem last month.
