Followmont Transport recently announced the opening of its newest depot in Warwick, Queensland.
The strategic move brings the company’s total owned depots to 24, reinforcing Followmont’s commitment to optimising its operational network.
Followmont Transport Managing Director, Mark Tobin, said the decision to establish a depot in Warwick is a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation, efficiency and consistently improving its service.
“As part of our continuous improvement journey, we evaluated our operations in Toowoomba and recognised an opportunity to enhance efficiency and service capabilities,” he said.
“Opening the new Warwick depot refines our network operations and provides an even better service to our customers.”
The depot reinforces Followmont’s commitment to providing a service beyond major urban centres and into regional towns.
Building on the success and growth in Toowoomba, this move extends Followmont’s reach while alleviating the task on existing operations.
“This journey has been about capability building,” Tobin said.
“Our strategy of providing unparalleled service prompted us to explore options that would not only enhance our capabilities but also have a positive impact on the environment.
“By strategically distributing these depots, we can reduce the number of vehicles on the road and increase our overall efficiency.”
Following an internal report conducted by the team, Followmont is focused on remaining agile as a family business, especially in its decision-making processes.
“We’re not driven by the desire to be the biggest,” Tobin said.
“Our focus remains on creating a network that is efficient, reliable, and responsive to our customers’ needs.”
The opening of the Warwick depot is part of a broader vision to refine Followmont’s network operations and explore new and better ways of serving its customers.
