Followmont Transport has unveiled a new addition to its fleet — a specially designed UD Quon.
A symbol of Followmont’s ongoing support for women in both sport and transport, the electric fuchsia UD Quon features the Brisbane Lions AFLW team on its curtains.
The 6×2 prime mover provides 263kW of power at 2200rpm and is being driven around the local metro area by Jade Harney, last year’s recipient of NatRoad’s National Young Driver of the Year award..
Followmont, having launched its first pink UD to support women in transport back in late 2020, is passionate about driving visibility and creating opportunity for women across industries.
CEO Ross Longmire said the initiative reflects Followmont’s values and the company’s commitment to fostering diversity and representation.
“The unveiling of this truck represents our ongoing support for gender equality, shining a spotlight on the incredible talent and dedication of female athletes and transport professionals alike,” he said.
“It’s a commitment to recognising the role of women in shaping our industries.”
Followmont Transport currently operates one of the biggest UD Quon fleets in Queensland.
As the truck rolls out across Brisbane, Followmont intends for it to serve as a moving reminder that the road ahead is full of opportunity for women, whether it’s in sport or behind the wheel.
Ross Longmire was first announced as Followmont Chief Executive Officer back in December last year.
This week Followmont Managing Director Mark Tobin was recognised by the Australian Trucking Association with an award for Outstanding Contribution to the Australian Trucking Industry.
