Followmont Transport has just taken delivery of six new Kenworth K220 prime movers from Brown and Hurley.

Known for their safety features, ergonomic cab designs and high-performing Cummins X15 engines, the Kenworth K220s are Followmont’s ideal choice to carry out linehaul runs from Brisbane to Townsville.

“Kenworth trucks have proven themselves time and time again across our business,” said Followmont Transport CEO, Ross Longmire.

“They’re well-suited to the work we do and provide our drivers with the tools they need to perform safely and efficiently while continuing to deliver for our customers.”

The new trucks, which will provide support to a new Followmont customer, boost Followmont’s total number of Kenworths K220s to 13, as well as the total number of Kenworths in active operation to 53.

Former Lindsay Transport Operations General Manager, Rob Dummer [pictured], now Followmont’s Linehaul GM, has extensive experience working with prime movers from PACCAR Australia.

The investment, according to Followmont, reinforces the company’s commitment to reliable, efficient and driver-focused transport solutions that keep freight moving across both Queensland and New South Wales.

Followmont Transport Managing Director, Mark Tobin, highlighted Brown and Hurley’s crucial role in delivering on this commitment.

“As our business grows, we continue to invest in quality equipment from brands we know and trust,” he said.

“The support we receive from Brown and Hurley and PACCAR gives us great confidence in their product and service, and these new K220s will play an important role in supporting our network and our people.

“They’ll deliver flexibility for both produce and general freight runs, while upholding the high standards our drivers expect day-in and day-out.”

Additionally, Brown and Hurley Dealer Principal, Dylan Hurley, expressed its pride and excitement in collaborating with Followmont.

“Our family businesses are strongly aligned with a shared focus on customer service and investing in our people and facilities,” he said.

“We look forward to continuing this strong relationship for many years to come.”
