The board of directors of Scania has appointed Martin Lundstedt as the new president and chief executive of Scania AB. He takes up his new position on September 1 this year, succeeding Leif Östling who has been appointed member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG.
Born in 1967, Lundstedt has a Master of Science degree and is currently executive vice president and head of franchise and factory sales, Scania. He joined the company in 1992 and has held various senior positions including head of Scania’s industrial operations in France from 2001 to 2005 and senior vice president, trucks, until 2007 when he assumed his current position.
On the executive board of Scania, in addition to Martin Lundstedt, Jan Ytterberg, chief financial officer, and Christian Levin, head of sales and services management, remain in their present positions, while Per Hallberg, currently head of research and development, has been appointed head of production and logistics. In his new position he succeeds Anders Nielsen, who has been appointed chief executive of MAN Truck & Bus AG.
Meanwhile, a couple of new members of the executive board have been announced:
? Succeeding Per Hallberg as head of research and development is Dr. Harald Ludanek. Born in 1958, Ludanek has a Doctorate in Engineering and is currently head of vehicle development at Volkswagen AG;
? Successor of Martin Lundstedt as head of franchise and factory sales is 42 year old Henrik Henriksson. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently senior vice president, trucks, at Scania.
In addition, two new positions on the executive board have been filled by Andrea Fuder and Kent Conradson. Fuder has been appointed head of purchasing while Conradson will be head of human resources.
