Employees recognised by Kalari Transport

Kalari Transport has announced the winners of the Extra Mile Awards, an in-house program set up to recognise employees who take actions to help the business perform better.

The winner of the 'Keeping it Safe' award is Barry Pearse from WA. Barry noticed a live electric cable arcing at a customer’s premises during a storm. He notified the control room and stayed at the site so no one could enter the unsafe area until assistance arrived. According to Kalarim, his awareness and initiative prevented a serious incident from occurring.

The 'Looking Good Award' for flawless presentation of vehicles, workshops and people went to Hoani Brown from WA. Hoani was nominated for always keeping his truck in immaculate condition. When his normal prime mover was off the road he was given an older truck, which was not in pristine condition. Within one week he had polished the cab, rims and fuel tanks bringing it back to sparkling condition, all while performing his normal duties.

The 'You Beaut Customer Service and Teamwork Award' had joint winners in Matt Jury from Laverton, as well as Trevor Dennert and Dave Shaw of Largs North. When the WA team put out an urgent call for additional support the trio, with short notice and without hesitation, flew to Western Australia for two weeks to assist with extra volumes required during a customer’s critical stock shortage situation. Their actions helped pave the way for Kalari to renew the haulage contract for a further five years.
