The TruckSafe accreditation program is proud to welcome Don Watson Transport as its newest accredited member.
According to Administration Manager Adam Mayhew, who oversees the Don Watson Transport compliance section, implementing the TruckSafe standards had really enhanced the processes and procedures that the company already had in place.
“Joining TruckSafe helped us review and streamline everything. We found that while we had most of the processes in place already, there were a number of different manuals and procedures in place,” he said. “We’ve now consolidated these into one consistent manual across all of our operations.
“Our maintenance tracking system has also improved under TruckSafe. We already did the work, but now we have the records to back that up, and the information flows right across the business.
“Having TruckSafe accreditation is a great way to show our customers and community the high priority Don Watson Transport puts on safety in all aspects of our business.”
TruckSafe Chairman Stephen Marley said TruckSafe accredited operators were some of the safest transport businesses in Australia.
“Businesses that join TruckSafe go above and beyond the requirements of the law to put safety first in their business activities,” he said.
“I’d like to congratulate Don Watson Transport and its Managing Director, Noelene Watson (pictured), for taking these steps to continue improving their business practices.
“It shows the importance that Noelene places on improving safety and professionalism in the trucking industry, both in her business and as Chair of the ATA.”
Don Watson Transport was established in 1948, and today is one of Australia’s leading refrigerated logistics companies. The company operates a fleet including more than 80 line haul prime movers from depots in Melbourne, Wodonga, Sydney and Brisbane, and cold stores in Wodonga and Sydney.
