Daimler Truck & Bus Australia/ Pacific has announced major changes to a number of senior management positions that will take effect on 1 November this year.
“The Daimler Truck & Bus business has achieved a great set of outcomes with the announced changes which both reinforce and strengthen our aggressive and ambitious growth targets,” said Daniel Whitehead, Managing Director of Daimler Truck and Bus.
Richard Eyre, General Manager of Fuso, will take on a new dual role of General Manager Strategic Partners and Business Development in Australia, and also regionally for Trucks Asia.
“The change will allow Richard to focus purely on key account management and strategic sales activities for which he has a strong industry reputation both here and in Asia, where he will spend half his time on behalf of our Trucks Asia division,” said Whitehead.
Succeeding Eyre as General Manager of Fuso will be Justin Whitford (pictured), current General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus. Whitford will be replaced by Michael May, who has previous experience in Daimler’s aftersales and engineering divisions.
“Justin has established a clear and strong strategic plan for the Mercedes-Benz business over the last 18 months and this strategy will continue under Michael’s guidance,” Whitehead added.
“We welcome Michael to the role as someone who has already had a strong career with Daimler Truck & Bus and his most recent success as head of our Melbourne retail franchise uniquely positions him to grow the business now and into the future.
“All three leaders come into their new roles with well credentialed sales and marketing experience and from my early conversations with dealers and customers, we all agree this is another important step for our brands and their stakeholders.”
