Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, has unveiled the 1,000,000th DAF truck produced at its Eindhoven facility in the Netherlands in a ceremony held recently.
The news comes just two months after fellow Paccar brand, Kenworth, also produced its one millionth truck in the US.
“We are very honoured that Prime Minister Rutte has officially unveiled the millionth DAF truck manufactured in Eindhoven,” said Harrie Schippers, President and CEO of DAF Trucks NV.
“That is also due recognition for the 5000 employees in Eindhoven, who daily give their all to supply our customers with trucks and services of the highest quality.”
The millionth truck was sold as part of a batch destined for Hungarian operator Révész Group – a logistics firm with a 480-strong fleet that specialises in bulk and tanker transport.
