CVIAQ to hold Apprentice Challenge at Brisbane Truck Show

The Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) will be hosting this year’s CVIAQ Apprentice Challenge at the 2013 Brisbane Truck Show from May 16-19.

“With over $4000 in prizes to be won, this year’s CVIAQ Apprentice Challenge will be a true showcase of the best heavy vehicle mechanical apprentices the industry has to offer,” the Association announced.

According to CVIAQ, the competition features six teams searching for the best heavy vehicle mechanical apprentices. The competition is hands on with the winners fixing and finding all the faults first or the most in 45 minutes on identical Scania G 440 trucks.

The competition will consist of heats on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the final on Sunday where the two best teams go up against each other.

To be eligible, the apprentices must work for a CVIAQ member and be in an approved National Training Package Course relevant to the heavy vehicle industry and be nominated by their employer or training provider.
