Cummins to sponsor young technicians

Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins South Pacific, in conjunction with the Australian Trucking Association (ATA), has announced it will support a competition to send three young technicians to the Technical & Maintenance Conference (TMC) held at the Automotive Centre of Excellence from 15 – 17 October at Melbourne’s Docklands.

According to Cummins South Pacific, all entrants must be under 25 years old and employed as a service technician to be eligible.

If chosen, the candidates will have the opportunity to receive mentoring from the most experienced technicians in the business. They will also receive certificates of attendance to three different product training workshops.

The selected technicians will receive full registration and free accommodation valued at more than $1,100, in addition to attending the Castrol Awards Dinner, the ALLRig Funhouse at the Fox Classic Car Collection and associated forums.

To enter applicants must email the ATA by 5pm on Tuesday, 9 October 2012, and describe in 25 words or less why the technician should come, with the three winners to be announced the following morning.
