CMV Truck & Bus has appointed Joe Di Santo as Market Development Manager for Emerging Technologies & Alternative Fuels.
A highly respected figure in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, Di Santo has helped pioneer the introduction of electric commercial vehicles into the Australian market.
He brings a wealth of knowledge to the role having almost 30 years’ experience as a Strategic Consultant and is passionate about helping customers meet their sustainability goals.
Known for his strong understanding of the EV landscape, Di Santo has already hit the ground running, accelerating Volvo Electric trucks’ presence in the Victorian and South Australian markets.
”We are thrilled to welcome Joe Di Santo into this newly established role at CMV Truck & Bus”, said CMV Truck & Bus Dealer Principal, Miles Crawford.
“We’re at a pivotal time in the industry right now with regard to Victoria’s and South Australia’s readiness for low emission technologies and Joe’s expertise and vision for an EV future align perfectly with our mission to provide sustainable transportation solutions for our customers.”
Di Santo will prioritise addressing barriers to the adoption of electric trucks in Australia, helping customers transition to cleaner and more efficient transport solutions.
“I am excited to join CMV Truck & Bus and work with a team that’s deeply passionate about shaping the future of transportation,” he said.
“Together, we’ll tackle the key challenges facing electric truck adoption and empower businesses to make informed decisions for future planning,“ said Di Santo.
”Our goal is to deliver exceptional value to our customers while driving meaningful progress toward zero-emission freight.”
Di Santo will also continue his advocacy work for electric and low-emissions vehicles, speaking at events such as the 2025 Alternative Fuel Summit, an industrial sustainability conference in Melbourne on 18 November, where he will share insights on the growing role of alternative fuels.
“I will continue to advocate for regulatory reform, government-backed financial support, and the development of dedicated electric truck charging stations to enable scalable, zero-emission freight transport across Australia” he said.
Di Santo’s appointment comes at a time of strong industry momentum, driven by the successful national rollout of Volvo’s electric trucks, which is building growing confidence in the viability of zero-emissions commercial transport, with Volvo Group Australia (VGA) set to commence Australian assembly of electric Volvo trucks in 2026.
As a trusted partner of VGA, CMV Truck & Bus is proud to lead the rollout of Volvo’s heavy-duty electric trucks across Victoria and South Australia, supporting customers as they navigate their transition to more sustainable fleets.
CMV Truck & Bus operates six certified Volvo Trucks Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealerships, each equipped with expert workshop, parts, and sales teams who have completed Volvo’s rigorous and extensive EV training, ensuring the highest standards of service and support for electric truck operators.
CMV Truck & Bus is a division of the wider CMV Group, who last year celebrated 90 years in business.
