Canberra-based wholesale fruit and vegetable supplier Go Troppo Fruit Market has added another truck to its Isuzu-exclusive fleet.
The fleet is now comprised of 14 Isuzu N Series trucks – 10 NNR 45-150 Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) with refrigerated bodies and four NQR 87-190 ATM curtainsiders to handle large volumes – branded under ‘Frank Commisso Transport’.
According to the son of Go Troppo founder, Marcus Commisso, the Isuzu fleet helps to support the sheer variety of produce that the supplier has.
“We’ve got a bigger range of products than our competitors and we strive to provide unbeatable service,” he said.
“If one of our customers rings us up at the last minute with something they need, we’ll get it there for them, providing same-day turnaround.”
The newest NNR 45-150 is built with an Isuzu 4JJ1-TCS engine, offering 110KW of power at 2,800rpm and 375 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,800rpm.
Additionally, this new model features a GVM of 4,500kg, allowing for up to three pallets of fresh produce to be loaded with the custom-built fridge body while also offering driver flexibility, as it can be operated on a standard car licence.
Isuzu’s two-pedal AMT gives drivers the option of switching to manual gears on hills or rougher terrain, and is an important feature for Go Troppo drivers who want a user-friendly transmission during their 10-hour shifts. This quality makes the NNR 45-150 well-suited to navigate Canberra’s streets and laneways.
In addition to being an Isuzu-exclusive fleet, Go Troppo’s trucks have achieved further uniformity with sleek chrome finishes and an array of lighting fixtures to cut through Canberra fog.
According to Marcus, the presentation of the fleet is as important as the presentation of Go Troppo’s produce.
“With all the added chrome and bling my drivers feel like royalty on the road,” he said.
“I brand absolutely everything I can for the business and love it.”
Go Troppo’s Isuzu fleet also receives regular servicing through the truck company’s Canberra outlet, in addition to Isuzu’s six-year standard warranty and six years of roadside assistance on new 4 x 2 N Series cab chassis models.
“We service our trucks every 20,000km at Canberra Isuzu and have been doing so for three decades,” Marcus said.
“Their reliability, practicality, and servicing… you just can’t beat it. It’s all part of the Isuzu Trucks package.
“In my opinion, there’s no other truckmaker out there in the same league for a local delivery vehicle.”
