North Queensland car transport specialist Cairns Car Carrying has purchased an Isuzu Giga CXY 415 to help fortify its operations between Cairns, Townsville and Mackay.
According to company owner and driver, Stuart Blair, rising fuel costs and tight schedules often make car transportation a handy alternative for those moving home or office over longer distances.
“The Giga CXY 415 is a great all-rounder and the perfect fit for carrying cars,” he said. “The visibility from the cab is surprisingly good for such a big truck. Changing lanes and going around corners is effortless as the steep ‘A’ pillar provides excellent forward vision.
“The automated manual transmission (AMT) with power/economy functions as well as the skip shift and manual control mode switches make driving the truck a joy.”
The truck’s 24,000 kg GVM allows it to carry up to seven cars, or six commercial vehicles on the back of his specially designed 14.6 metre trailer.
Trailer specialists, Pacific Trailers, provided the trailer that secures the cars by using over-wheel heavy duty nylon straps to keep them in place during transit.
