Brisbane to host Commercial Vehicle Engineering Conference

The 2014 edition of ComVec will be held on May 27 and 28 at the Royal International Convention Centre at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

The program across the two days includes two streams – one focusing on Engineering, and one on New Truck Model Presentations and Displays.

The New Truck Model stream will be presented by engineers and product specialists from Hino, DAF, Iveco, Fuso, Cat Trucks, Isuzu, Smith Electric and the Volvo Group Australia.

According to Show organisers, the stream will provide up-to-date information on the latest offerings from the manufacturers presented by their engineering staff as well as hands-on displays with vehicles brought into the centre.

Reportedly, the sessions will be based on body building and final fit out information with time allowed for questions and hands-on experience with the vehicles.

The Engineering stream will be led by industry and regulatory experts covering up-to-date and future developments. Attendees will have the ability to speak to and query leading vehicle and component manufacturers, Performance Based Standards (PBS) experts and State and Federal jurisdictions – including the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) along with the Truck Industry Council (TIC) and the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).

The conference will also include a panel discussion every day, with Tuesday featuring a discussion on 2.6m vehicle width and Wednesday covering future vehicle standards.
