BP will show its support to Australian charities through its Vouchers for Volunteers program, where registers charities will have the opportunity to be awarded between $1000 and $20,000 worth of fuel.
The Vouchers for Volunteers program was started by BP in May 2009 as part of the company’s commitment to supporting Australian communities.
“Every day, thousands of volunteers give up their spare time to help others who are less fortunate and this year has shown us how, more than ever, we need to come together to tackle the big challenges,” explained BP’s social responsibility manager, Dr Mark Glazebrook.
He continued, “BP has already given away over $50,000 worth of free fuel vouchers to volunteers who assisted during the floods, cyclone and bush fires across the nation earlier this year, but we know the important contribution charities make to the fabric of our community and the Vouchers for Volunteers program is our way of supporting their efforts.”
In past years, fuel vouchers were awarded directly to individuals, however this year the program is open to all registered charities across Australia.
Applications close on 17 July 2011 and BP will announce the successful applicants on 22 August. Online application forms are available via the BP website.
