BP announces partnership with Trans-Help Foundation

BP Australia has announced a partnership with national charity Trans-Help Foundation to help the organisation continue its work supporting drivers and their families both on and off-road.

“BP is proud to be a supporter, assisting Trans-Help Health and Support Units as they continue traversing major transport corridors, providing free preliminary health checks and counselling on the road to Australia’s drivers,” the company said in a press statement.

Established in 2006 by a group of dedicated individuals with first-hand experience of family life and hardships within the transport industry, Trans-Help acts as the ‘Lifeline’ of Australia’s roads – providing a variety of services that cater to and promote health and wellbeing within the transport industry.

Founder and CEO of Trans-Help, Dianne Carroll OAM said, “The diverse range of hours and shifts truck drivers work can often mean essential services, such as preventative health checks and doctors’ appointments, are missed – and may leave our nation’s drivers more vulnerable and susceptible to health complications behind the wheel.

“By partnering with BP, our Health and Support Units and our dedicated team of volunteers are able to continue our work on Australia’s freight corridors providing essential health services to our transport personnel. This helps ensure the industry is a healthier one.”

B2B Communications Manager at BP Australia, Warwick Lloyd, commented, “Our drivers are the lifeblood of our organisation, so we understand how important it is for them to have access to services such as the Health and Support Units – to ensure they remain safe and in good health on our roads.

“We are incredibly proud to support Trans-Help and are committed to helping them fulfil their mission to achieve optimal health and wellbeing across the transport industry.”

Trans-Help Health and Support Units are currently visiting a number of Truckstops and BP Service Centres across Australia.
